Titan Infra Energy in cooperation with LG International Corp., a Korea-based company, one of the largest companies in the world specializes in the trading of commodities, industrial products, information technology products, and consumer goods, has been operating the coal mine of Ganda Alam Makmur in East Kalimantan.
LG International Corp. has agreed to manage and run the business, including its marketing and the development of the entire mining operation at Ganda Alam Makmur. This partnership will certainly provide great benefits for both LG International Corp. and Titan Infra Energy in supporting Ganda Alam Makmur mining operation.
PT PLN (Persero)
PLN is an Indonesia state-owned electricity company which has power plants located throughout Indonesia archipelago. PLN consumes approximately 74 million tons of coal in 2014.
In 2006, Titan Infra Energy was awarded a 20 year contract to supply coal to PLN starting from 2012. The contract requires Titan Infra Energy to supply up to 3.5 million tons of coal per year to power plants in Rembang, Pelabuhan Ratu, Suralaya, and Amurang.
Trafigura is a Swiss-based company and known as one of the world’s leading independent commodity trading and logistic provider. Trafigura invests worldwide in strategically located infrastructure to streamline commodity supply chains and make trading more efficient.
In 2014, Titan Infra Energy in partnership with Trafigura Pte Ltd has taken over Titan Infra Sejahtera (previous known as Servo Meda Sejahtera), which owned 116 km coal hauling road connecting four districts (Lahat, Muara Enim, Pali and Musi Banyuasin) in South Sumatra, and special river dedicated coal port.
South Sumatra region has the largest coal reserves in Indonesia. However, due to the lack of infrastructure, the transport of coal in South Sumatra cannot be fully utilized. With the TIS road and port, it can unlock the potential of South Sumatra coal.
